Don't be bored, you are able to make a little joy for your days of staying home. Look at these plants that I grow with leftover roots of coriander, they are just a day old and new leaves have developed. Best wishes for a better tomorrow.
Method: Spot shallots with greenish showing in the centers, reserve 2 inches in length of spring onion or coriander roots, place them on egg tray (make small holes on each gravities for roots to grow beyond) and put the whole tray in a container filled with water. The level of water just slightly touch the roots will do the trick. Everyday change water once.
Once the vegetables plants are growing, you may transfer them in soil should you be good at gardening. Shallots, spring onions and coriander grows well in water so I keep mine in water, will trim off the plant for cooking in due time. I will attempt new roots when they stop growing.

Do you see the celery heads on the right side of shallot plants? These are the leftovers from celery I bought. It is the same method, please them onto a container of water, with water level touching the hard part of the head but not the green stem portions (to avoid rottening). Just wait patiently for the roots to grow, and you may transfer the celery into soil.
